Depression

Depression is cited by the World Health Organization as a leading contributor to the "global burden of disease" Depression, says WHO, is the 4th biggest health problem in the world, by many measures.

Chuck and Janie:
"Depression may involve feelings of sadness, dejection, melancholy, enervation and victimization. It stems from a loss we haven’t gotten over.

Depression is closely associated with a lack of self-esteem, depression is our refusal to go on in life after experiencing a loss, a shattered dream or a major disappointment."

Healing Depression

Chuck Spezzano talks about healing Depression (and Loneliness):

Chuck and Lency:

Any loss you hold on to becomes a depression. Only by letting go of the past can you experience a new beginning. If you carry within you a loss that you have not mourned then you will be trapped in the past, trying to reconstruct what was lost...

Sometimes you just refuse to let go of something or someone you have lost. Only when you recognise the part of your mind that was willing to lose it can you move on to the next step. Holding on to the past can become your excuse to not move forward and face the next step.

Depressions are emotional tantrums that reveal where you have refused to get on with your life. Only by letting go and embracing the next step will your life improve and take you further than you have ever gone before. Depression can lead to death temptation, which is an expression of your fear of the next step. Yet taking the next step is the very thing that will get you out of the depression.
